Where do I begin???
All I can really say, is wow. Sometimes life comes at you so fast that all you can say is “what the fuck?”.
You get through one adversity and before you’ve had a chance to fully recover here comes more crazy shit for you to worry about. So is life, I guess.
Getting Old Sucks…
2014 was a challenging year for me physically. Most of my life I’ve been pretty healthy for the most part. So to start getting hit with a barrage of health issues in my 30’s was unexpected.
Over the last year or so I’ve noticed how it seems that no matter what, I’m always thirsty. Honestly, I’ve never really given it too much thought.
That was until sometime last month I saw a photo on facebook that a guy younger than I am posted, where he had just had half of his foot amputated due to problems with his diabetes.
Not sure why, but that really scared the shit out of me. So much so, that I decided to ask my physician to test me to make sure I don’t have it. Just to be on the safe side.
Well today I came to find out that my test results were abnormal. This means there’s a likelihood that I’m either diabetic or pre-diabetic.
I was also told that I have low cholesterol, and that I need to change my diet pretty radically; and also start to lose some weight.
Could This Be A Blessing In Disguise?
Personally, I think that a large part of what happens to us is our lives is based on our perspective.
If you approach situations with doom and gloom then that’s what you can ultimately expect. I choose to look at the situation entirely different.
I’ve chosen to take this as a wake up call first and foremost. Second, I’ve decided that this is happening so that I can make some new life changes.
Sometimes God or The Universe (or whatever YOU like to call it) puts situations in your life that forces you to change, especially when you won’t do it on your own.
All I can say is, “I get the message… loud and clear!”
I’m looking forward to this new chapter in my life, whatever that may bring.
All I can say is that I’m ready!
I plan on getting my ass in peak condition over the next 6 to 12 months.
It may or may not change things with my blood sugar issues, but what I do know is that doing nothing definitely won’t make it any better!
So with that said, I encourage you to start taking better care of yourselves. Don’t wait until you get bad news to start being proactive with your health.
You only get one body!
Make sure you take care of it and it will take care of you!
