What good is it to have a really low Alexa rank but you aren’t making a dime from your website? ABSOLUTELY NONE!!! People online and internet marketers get too caught up in the number of their Alexa scores but are not making any money from their sites.
Your website is not even considered to be of very much significance until it has reached the coveted 100,000 and below rank. As of this writing the rank for this site is currently 405,555 in the world according to Alexa. Now while that is okay it could be a lot better if I were not worried about going to school, taking care of a 13 month old and a 1 month old, and working a full-time job along with building a home business on the side.
The point I’m trying to make here is that your website could actually be in the top 100,000 sites viewed online and still not making you any money at all. If that’s the case shame on you… because there are many different things that you could be doing in order to help monetize some of the traffic that you’re getting to your website or blog.
1. Do you have an autoresponder? – If you don’t have an autoresponder then you are missing out on all the people who visit your site and have a genuine interest in what it is that you have to offer. If they happen to forget the name of your website then that is one potential client, business partner, or product buyer that just went down the drain. I personally use AWeber as my autoresponder and I really like it a lot. There are lots of other autoresponders out there that you can use but pretty much everyone will tell you that AWeber is the best.
2. Do you use Google AdSense? – Google AdSense is an advertising program that you can join for free and actually get paid each time anyone clicks on your ad. Most people who are not techies online are not familiar with this program but it is a really cool way to make some additional income if you know how to generate traffic to your website.
3. Affiliate Programs – Affiliate programs are another way to make some decent money on your website. An affiliate program is nothing more than a product that someone else has created and given “affiliates” the opportunity to sell the product on their behalf and make a commission in the process of doing so. It’s really very simple and probably what most new internet marketers get started with when learning how to make money online. Two of the best affiliate programs are Clickbank and Commission Junction (Google Them)
4. Network Marketing – Network Marketing is another attractive way to make money online. Traditionally network marketing was always a belly to belly or face to face business. However with the advancements in technology the internet is becoming a new way of finding potential business partners to join you in your network marketing business. While I personally believe that the old way of network marketing such as the PBR or private business reception in your home is the easiest way to duplicate your success, the internet is definitely a good way to make the initial contact with your potential business partners.
These four things that I just mentioned above should help you to get well on your way to better monetizing your blog or website. Just remember that your Alexa ranking is nowhere as important as your credit ranking and your bank account!
