Have you ever felt like your life was not going anywhere and you were doing everything you could to move forward?

I like to compare it to spending your life on a treadmill and going nowhere fast. No matter how fast you run on a treadmill, you’re still going to be in the same spot. That’s the same way many people feel in their jobs and their businesses.

No matter what you do for a living it’s always good to take a day and change things up a bit in order to break the monotony of what you do in your everyday life. One example would be if you are a runner, maybe instead of going to the normal place where you go every single day, you should change it up and go to a different park, or a different gym.

Whatever the case may be, it is just important that we break the monotony of our everyday lives from time to time. If you run a home based business, maybe instead of prospecting from 1-3 everyday you could switch it up and actually prospect from 5-7 a couple days out of the week.

The reason that I feel it is important to break the monotony in our lives is because when we don’t, we tend to start feeling burnt out about things. After we start to feel burnt out it’s not long until we no longer want to do those things anymore at all. Soon we’ve given up on the thing all together…

This is especially true in our jobs. Most people (at least 90% of all people) do not like their jobs, or they feel they are underpaid. In most cases, you are literally “stuck” in your job at a pay rate that will not be increasing anytime soon.

If it does increase, more than likely the pay raise will be no more than 50 cents a lot of the time. Is that the type of life you want to live? A life where someone else dictates what you’re worth, when you take vacations, and when you get to eat lunch?

My advice to someone who’s found themselves in a dead end job would be to just quit and find a new one. There’s no sense found in staying in a job that you are miserable with just to make ends meet. Despite all of the doom and gloom being broadcast on television there are jobs out there. It’s your job to get out there and find one!

Don’t be a prisoner to the system, but more importantly don’t be a prisoner to your own mind. All of your limitations in life have been placed there because of your thinking. If you want to break the limitations you feel are being imposed on you then all you need to do is renew your mind and change your thinking. Once you do, you will begin to see opportunities all around you and the monotony that once drove you insane will no longer be there.
