are one of the more popular methods of advertising on the internet. Years ago solo ads used to be probably the best method in order for you to generate quality traffic and leads to your websites.

Solo Ads

As time has gone by, solo ads are no longer as effective as they once were. Nowadays, you have individuals out there who are selling fake traffic in order to take advantage of unsuspecting buyers.

Typically, a solo ad usually runs about $0.50 to $1.00 per click. It's important to understand that just because you get a click does not mean that someone is actually going to submit their contact info on your opt in form (which should be your ultimate goal).

So whenever you pay for a solo ad there are no guarantees. For the most part, there are no guarantees in advertising regardless. I just wanted to clarify the fact that if you were to go out and purchase a solo ad, the only thing that you are guaranteed is to receive a specified amount of clicks.

The amount of actual leads that you generate from a solo ad is always dependent upon the quality of your lead capture page, as well as your sales copy that is found on that page. These are two of the most important factors to consider prior to purchasing a solo ad.

Another key thing to consider, is talking to your solo ad vendor in order to ascertain what type of traffic that they have. Is their contact list known to be proven buyers? Or does their contact list prefer freebie offers? This type of information is critical, because if your objective is to make a sale but the solo ad vendor's list is primarily comprised of freebie seekers, then you probably will not see good results.

Solo Ads - Beware of the Co-Op!

Another thing that you want to beware of at ALL COSTS is unwittingly getting involved in solo ad co-ops. When I tell you that there are some shady characters on the internet, I MEAN IT!!

Some of the things that I've seen people do inside of solo ad co-ops would make you cringe!

There's one marketer in particular, that I saw with my own eyes collect $1000 for a solo ad co-op and then turn around and only spend $400 of that money on the co-op - and then pocketed the rest.

In the meanwhile all of the unsuspecting members of this co-op believed that they were receiving traffic when in essence, over HALF of the money that should of contributed to them getting traffic to their websites was in the pocket of the marketer who organized the co-op advertising.

Shady business practices like these are how some marketers get a large majority of their traffic FREE OF CHARGE because they're using YOUR money for it through shady solo ad co-ops, etc.

Since then, this particular person and myself had a falling out, because I could not help but to tell others to beware of this type of activity.

Do I feel bad? Absolutely not!

People work hard for their money, and all of us here on the internet and in network marketing and whatever other type of home-based business that they do are all trying to get ahead. So nobody wants to be taken advantage of, especially buying solo ads.

But Do Solo Ads Really Work?

From everything that I've seen over the years solo ads without question can work. The issue here is, can you find an individual to sell you a legitimate solo ad without having to fear that you'll be taken advantage of?

I've seen lots of different marketers out there get really good results from solo ads, but what I would actually recommend to anyone reading this article today is to do your due diligence on the individual(s) who you decide to purchase your solo ads from.

Do they have testimonials?
Have they told you what type of people are on their list?
Do they have any reputable names and their testimonials?

Those are just a couple of the questions that you should be asking yourself before you get involved with any solo ad vendor.

My Personal Opinion on Solo Ads

It is my personal opinion that if you are going to use solo ads - use extreme caution!

I myself, am the type of person who likes to have more control over the actual process of what's taking place. For example, in the event that you were to get involved in a solo ad co-op, ask to see the tracking! If the co-op facilitator is not willing to share the tracking stats with you then don't buy it!

Another thing I forgot to mention previously is that you always want to clarify where the majority of the vendors traffic comes from.

The last thing you want to do is purchase traffic that is coming from a non-English-speaking location. That will be detrimental to your success if what you have to promote is primarily in English.

But again, I like to have control over what is going on in the process. For that reason, I am not a big fan of solo ads.

I would much rather use a marketing strategy that's more cost-effective and allows me to have a much wider reach. The solution that I've found is actually called Ringless Voicemail.

For the same cost of a 100 click solo ad, with ringless voicemail you could connect with 1000 to 2000 people in a matter of minutes, and not have to worry about whether or not your traffic was actually authentic.

Now please understand, I'm not knocking solo ads - I'm just simply here to say that solo ads are not what they are all cracked up to be. Truthfully, my advice would be to stay away from them altogether. But, if you must… Just be sure to make sure that you follow the tips that were shared here within this article.
