This is the question you need to ask someone when they call themselves rejecting or not wanting to get involved in you network marketing business.

“What do you have that’s better?”

It’s important that we remember that no matter how good your opportunity is and no matter even if Bill Gates himself has endorsed your business, that not everyone will want to get involved.

With that said, it would be an injustice to you if you did not ‘challenge’ them one last time by at least asking them the question…  “What do you have that’s better?“

You must understand that the second someone feels like you ‘need’ them to join your business they are officially turned off. You have to come from a position of power and let them know that you don’t care if they get involved in your business or not.

Another thing you need to get across to your prospects is that you can and will not listen to their opinion “UNTIL” they look. Even then their opinion will mean nothing, but you cannot even consider listening to their opinion until they have evaluated your website, DVD, CD, or attended a home meeting.

A lot of the people you will be talking to will be your peers and your co-workers. You have to challenge them whenever they attempt to belittle your network marketing opportunity by asking them, “Well what can you offer me that’s better?” or better yet, “What do you have to offer me that’s better than this piece of bleep job?”

You have to believe inside that you’re running a multi-million dollar enterprise long before you get there. It’s critical that you begin with the end in mind. Without this type of focus it will be easy to get knocked off balance and possibly even quit your business when people show any sign of ridicule for what it is that you’re doing.

Of course more people are going to say no to you than will say yes when it comes to joining your business. So that gives you an ample amount of time to get good at challenging these people and asking them; “What do you have that’s better?” And let us not forget that even if they do say no to always ask them…. “Who do you know that might be interested in something like this?”

It might be a long shot, but you’ll never know if you don’t try. For all you know that dud might just lead you to a stud!

Understanding this is very key if you plan to excel in your network marketing company. You actually waste a lot more time when you are out convincing people to get involved. Now it is possible to get people involved with aggressive sales tactics and tons of convincing. The catch is that you’ll have to use those same tactics to get them to go to work.

Yeah well if you’ve ever been in Network Marketing before then you already know what I mean. A quick explanation for those of you who may not quite understand what that means is this:

In Network Marketing your sponsor is the person who brings you into the business. Now that we’ve got that outta the way let’s talk about the differences between a good and a bad sponsor.

Several Traits Of A Good Sponsor

1. A good sponsor is not just a recruiter, recruiters are only in it for the numbers. (The law of large numbers will apply in all areas.) A good sponsor is more concerned with finding people who want to become leaders and doing everything they can to work with these people instead of leaving them to fend for themselves.
2. They introduce you, or get you connected with your upline leaders.
3. A good sponsor gets you immediately plugged in to any team training, (calls, webinars, team websites, etc.)
4. A good sponsor will roleplay with you to get you prepared for approaching prospects.
5. A good sponsor is always available when they have promised you they’d be.

These are just a few examples of a good sponsor. Obviously it can be a bit difficult to discern whether or not you have chosen a good sponsor when you join someone online. For that reason I highly suggest copying questions tips number 2-5 and writing them down. This way you can actually ask your potential upline leader (sponsor) if they actually provide these options for their new team members. If they cannot fulfill your obligations I’d keep looking until I found a more comfortable fit.

Now let’s talk about…

Several Traits Of Bad Sponsors

1. A bad sponsor might not even know that they are a bad sponsor. It’s their fault, but it’s not their fault. (Sort of)
2. A bad sponsor does not have a system in place for you. They just sign you up and tell you to talk to people…. not a very good system.
3. A bad sponsor never spends time with you to discuss your reason “WHY” you are doing the business. (Going over your dreams, and goals, what you really want out of being in the business.)
4. A bad sponsor tries to recruit you into different opportunities and sell you their products with “how to recruit unlimited reps” for $199. (Why should you have to pay your sponsor for recruiting secrets??? Is that crazy or what?)
5. A bad sponsor tells you that it is “EASY” to get to 10k per month in your MLM business opportunity!

My Final Thoughts

Obviously there are a lot of things that I didn’t mention when it comes to the quality of your sponsor. It’s funny because a good sponsor can absolutely propel you to success in your mlm business. However, this isn’t a perfect world and everyone may not have a good sponsor. You may also have a sponsor who is long distance and you are going to have a decision to make. Are you going to have a never say die attitude and make this thing work REGARDLESS OF YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES or are you going to just give up and quit?

The only failures in this world are those who quit. Maybe you should read the last sentence over again 5 times and say it out loud! While your sponsor is an important factor in your MLM business success, it is ultimately up to you and your ATTITUDE that will determine where you will end up in your business opportunity.

If you are DETERMINED to succeed in your business regardless of whether you have a babysitter…. (I meant sponsor) you are going to have to learn how to market. Below are five simple steps that you can begin to implement NOW and start to see your dreams and goals come to fruition in your life a lot easier and a whole hell of a lot faster too! Some people call them S.M.A.R.T Goals because they are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely. That’s what I want to show you now….

1. A goal statement with a target date – The first thing that you want to do is to declare your goal and come up with a date by when you plan to have accomplished it. A bad example would be to say, “I want a new car in 2011.” If that’s how you set your goals no wonder you aren’t seeing the success you really want in your life.

So what was actually wrong with that last goal? For one, it was not specific at all. Everybody wants a new car, but what model of car is it? What year do you want the car to be? What color car do you desire? All these things come into play when making your goals. You need to be as specific as possible. When in 2011 do you want to have the car by? Do you want it by New Years Day? Do you want it by Feb 1st, March 1st, etc… It’s important that you get as clear as possible about what you want and give your self a target date or deadline to achieve it.

2.  Action steps – In the last example we had a goal set of wanting a new car. In this example I’m going to dumb it down for you so you can really see how simple this is. If you goal is to lose some weight for instance, then your action steps would look a little something like this:

• I’m going to join the local YMCA
• I’m going to meet with a personal trainer
• set an appointment with a nutritionist/dietician
• start walking/running 3 miles a day

This is how you plan some solid action steps for your goals. If you set unspecific goals and don’t have action steps in place to hit your goals it’s just like playing darts in the dark or with a blindfold on!

3. A narrative statement - A narrative statement is meant for you to have a ‘verbal image’ to emotionalize how you will feel when you hit your goal. Many people take it one step further and write out these statements in present tense as if they have already accomplished the goal. An example would be like this; “I am so happy that I look good in my clothes now” or “I feel so much better without all of that extra weight on me” or “I feel so happy that I can now wear my suit again that I wore when I got married.”

Hopefully you get the point on the narrative statements, obviously you’ll have to reword them specifically for your particular goals but successful people have been using these exact same techniques for years so they are definitely worth giving a shot.

4. An “I deserve it” statement - Here you want to write down 2-5 reasons why you feel you deserve this goal. This may not seem important but it is critically important because most people deep down do not believe that they deserve to accomplish their goals.  You need to really sit an ponder on why you believe that you deserve this goal. An example would be something like this:

“I deserve to lose 30 pounds because I deserve to be healthy” or “I deserve to reach the top of my compensation plan because my children deserve to go to the best schools” or “I deserve to drive a Mercedes CLS-550 because they are fantastic cars and it would make me feel good to ride in one.”

To keep it simple, this whole process is more about ‘emotionalizing’ your goals more than anything. If you can think about they way it will feel when you hit your goal and keep that feeling with you at all times, you will more than likely see that goal come to pass as long as you stick with your action steps.

5.  A personal signature - Finally, you want to sign your signature to your goal statement. This too is another critical step because it shows that you are committed to actually seeing your goal come to fruition. By following these 5 steps you will begin to see your goals come to pass more frequently. And when they do, you will start to become addicted to setting even bigger goals, then all you have to do is follow this process all over again!

So this review of the 5Linx opportunity will be no different. One thing I do know is that 5Linx is definitely a player in the MLM/Network Marketing world. Having been in the Inc.500 four consecutive years in a row says a lot about a company, especially one with a Multi Level Marketing business model.

So What Is 5Linx?

5Linx is a telecommunications company that offers several different products and services in 20 countries around the world.

Where Is 5Linx Headquartered?

5Linx headquartered in Henrietta, New York (a suburb or Rochester). They were started in 2001 have gone on to become one of the largest direct sellers of telecommunication services in the world. It is said that they have a 50,000 square foot home office.

So What Do They Sell?

5Linx actually offer a variety of different products. Their product line ranges from wireless phones to video phone technology, from local and long distance service to high speed internet and more.  Some of the other things they offer are things like Identity Theft protection, home security services, and satellite TV. They are also adding new services to their product line all the time.

What About The Leadership?

The 5Linx business opportunity is run by 3 gentleman in particular. The first is the founder and CEO Craig Jerabeck. Jerabeck has a pretty extensive background in the cellular/wireless phone industry, having founded two companies himself, (@Wireless Enterprises and Cellular Unlimited Corp.) and also having a background as an employee for Cellular One (who later became Cingular), I’d say he has a pretty extensive business background.

The next guy is Jeb Tyler, he is the vice president of marketing. Now while I cannot find a whole lot “factual” documentation on Jeb Tyler, it does mention on the corporate website that he has a BS in business, and is also responsible for product development, direct sales, and international marketing.

Last is Jason Guck, he is the executive vice president of sales. From what I’ve read he has experience in business development, project management, and team building. It also mentions that he has previously built organizations into the thousands spanning 5 countries.

My Opinion On The Management…

While I cannot refute the success of 5Linx as an organization, I am always a bit concerned when I hear of the leadership of a network marketing company and very few if any of the leaders actually have experience themselves when it comes to building a network marketing team.

It’s only when the leadership have a solid background in the field that they go out of their way to make sure that their reps are treated and compensated fairly for their efforts. While the company leadership information on the company website seems to be a little fluffed up and vague, I think they have a pretty good management team. At the time of this writing the 5Linx business employs over 170 people at their home office in Henrietta.

How Do I Get Paid?

At the time of this writing it cost approximately $499 to become an IMR or independent marketing representative for 5linx. In order to qualify for commissions all IMR’s must qualify for 4 customer points by either acquiring their own customers or you can even be your own customer. This includes the products such as cellular phone service, satellite tv, local and long distance, video phones, home security, or any of the other services that 5Linx offers.

Obviously the compensation plan is a little bit more complex than what I’ve just shared with you above. However, in order to avoid confusion I will just leave it at that and let you know that to get to the leadership positions you need to sponsor a minimum of 3 reps into 5Linx and teach them how to also acquire customer points.

It actually sounds more difficult than it really is, trust me.

My Final Thoughts On The 5Linx Opportunity

As with anything in life, nothing worth having comes free. There are many people living a lifestyle that most could only imagine as a result of being involved in the 5linx business opportunity. I do have good news if you are looking into getting involved with 5Linx and that news is this; the good news it that it’s your business and nobody is responsible but you. The bad news is, it’s your business and nobody is responsible but you!

For those who take this opportunity and treat it like the business that it is they will reap the rewards of having their own business. For those who treat it like a hobby they will reap the rewards of having a non-profit organization or (hobby).

21Ten is a new division of Oxyfresh which is a 26 year old network marketing company. Oxyfresh and 21Ten were created by CEO and found Richard Brooke. 21Ten is a proud member of the DSA or the Direct Selling Association as well. As far as the business opportunity goes it’s pretty much free to become a distributor with 21Ten. According to the compensation plan document it says that enrollment is free with online certification. It does mention that in order to earn commissions that new reps will have to purchase a builders kit.

After reviewing 21Ten, the leadership, the compensation plan, and their products. I do believe that with the reputation of Oxyfresh and the background of the leadership and top reps in Oxyfresh I do believe that 21Ten may have some serious staying power in the field of network marketing.

What I have noticed is that many of the top distributors are promoting the opportunity with ‘old school’ MLM tactics such as conference calls and PBR’s or home meetings. I know for a fact that the top income earners in Oxyfresh have attained there status from utilizing attraction marketing.

An affiliate program is nothing more than a product that someone else has created and given “affiliates” the opportunity to sell the product on their behalf and make a commission in the process of doing so. It’s really very simple and probably what most new internet marketers get started with when learning how to make money online. 4. Network Marketing – Network Marketing is another attractive way to make money online. Traditionally network marketing was always a belly to belly or face to face business. While I personally believe that the old way of network marketing such as the PBR or private business reception in your home is the easiest way to duplicate your success, the internet is definitely a good way to make the initial contact with your potential business partners.
