Okay.

Check this out.

I was on Facebook earlier today wasting time reading the newsfeed as usual, when I stumbled across a very significant post. It was about how if you’re constantly posting about your business on facebook and people aren’t joining then you must be doing something wrong.

Instead of writing it all I took a screenshot for you to see for yourself:

Now when I read this it really hit home for me.

For two reasons:

  • 1.) Because it was the absolute truth.
  • 2.) Was because the only people who usually join me in business online are strangers – not personal contacts.

This really got me to thinking…

“are my friends and family not interested because they don’t trust ME?”
“are they judging me from my past?”
“do they think working a job is the only way to make money?”

All kinds of things ran through my head, but the fact still remains – only a handful of people that I’ve personally known have ever joined me in any of my home based business ventures.

After reading that facebook post, now I’m on a mission to get to the bottom of it.

Now granted, as long as I’m generating leads and sales from the internet it’s not all that important if my “personal” friends decide to partner up with me or not.

My only concern, is getting to the bottom of why many of them do not even interact with my “biz posts” on facebook.

Maybe it’s because they are simply not motivated? Or maybe it’s because they’re just actually one of the ones who really do love waking up in the morning before the birds, driving to work in awful weather and rush hour traffic?

I don’t know???

However, now I’ve decided to work a little more on myself and my approach when I’m on facebook.

It is true that sometimes we use technology and social media as a barrier between us and our personal contacts in order to avoid rejection.

Why don’t people pick up the phone more?

If they say NO over a text it doesn’t hurt as bad as if they tell you to fuck off on the phone right? Or what if you sent them an instant message on facebook and they never replied, that doesn’t hurt as bad as them just telling you that they think your business is a stupid scam face to face, does it?

These are things that need to be addressed. The reason why is because the more you hide behind technology and social media the less rapport you have with the people you deal with.

If at all possible it’s always best to just hop on the phone. Especially when you’re trying to show someone something that can potentially change their lives.

It’s a little difficult for a person to determine how excited you truly are about your business if you’re talking to them through a text message or instant chat.

As Stanecia said in the image above, what people ‘truly’ buy into before they decide to do business with you is your excitement, and where they see you going – They buy into YOU.

When people think you’re going somewhere, they’re more than willing to follow you in order not to be left behind.

So if nobody is joining you in your business, that just means you need to get EXCITED! Be proud of whatever it is that you represent and let people know that you’re going to make it with or without them.

That’s when they will become more intrigued to learn more about what it is you have going on.

Make sense?

Of course it does – now if you’re still reading and you know me personally click here, watch the video, and lets work together to make 2014 epic.
